Today we made fake identity cards using French. We wrote our name, second name, profession, nationality and we also put fingerprints on them. This was all fake except for the prints! We pretended to be Nazi and British spies. The Nazi spies asked the questions. If the British spy's answer was different to what was on their identity card, one of their lives was lost. We were then given a map and coordinates and we had to track the location and name it. It was fun!
Hedgehog class had an amazing day on Monday 14th February, when we went on a school trip to West Stow. We pretended to be historians and archaeologists for the day, and learnt lots about the Anglo- Saxons. We looked at artefacts in the museum and visited the thatched huts to find out about their way of life.
World Book Day takes place on Thursday 3rd March this year. The School Council has decided that children should come to school dressed as a well-known book character. There is a little challenge to add this year - can you compose one sentence to describe your character using three powerful, amazing and awesome words. There will be a prize for the most original costume and sentence in each class!
Following on from World Book Day, children will have a chance to buy a new book at our Scholastic Book Sale which will take place in the school hall on Thursday 10th, Friday 11th and Monday 14th March after school.
We are really excited and pleased to announce that we have just achieved the Quality Mark for excellence in English and mathematics.
