  • Hedgehogs Stone Age to Iron Age Topic

Fri 30 Sep 2022 Mrs Chinnery

As part of their Stone Age to Iron Age topic, Hedgehogs were exploring how it must have felt to paint like a caveman. Creating their own powdered paint by grinding up materials using a large stone and then adding liquid to create paint. They then used either their fingers, sticks or feathers to apply the paint onto their cave wall.

  • Hedgehogs Class

Fri 16 Sep 2022 Mrs Chinnery

Hedgehogs have been studying the values of colour art using the zones of regulation colours.

They have been creating portraits of Queen Elizabeth II through the medium of charcoal and developing an understanding of the different mark making that can be created.

In PSHE Hedgehogs have been celebrating each others talents by creating badges for their friends. These talents were linked to our ACE particles, for instance being a good friend, being sharing and caring, being creative or sporty.

  • Adders Class

Fri 16 Sep 2022 Mrs Chinnery

Adders class have worked in groups to produce their own water books. They were given the choice to create a fiction or non-fiction book and some chose to do a combination of both. To illustrate the book they used art techniques that they have practiced in class, including paint layering and collage.

Well done Adders, all of your books are incredibly creative and it is clear you worked very hard on them, showing how together we can be ACE!

  • Foxes and Otters Class

Fri 16 Sep 2022 Mrs Chinnery

What a wonderful week we have had in Foxes and Otters. As we come to the end of our return to school curriculum we have been focussing on how we can Thrive at school whilst also looking at how we can help our environment thrive. Look at our incredible tomato plant! We have also thought about how to become ACE learners and use our tools to support our understanding of feelings and the zones of regulation. The children have been supporting each other in lots of active sessions and discovering how resilient they are in a giant game of musical chairs! The children took partners on a trust walk and made sure to keep everyone safe. Team work, kindness and caring behaviour has been shown in abundance and the teachers are incredibly proud of the children, especially as lots of us have noticed how tiring starting school can be. Well done Foxes and Otters for being ACE!
