Forest Schools

During Forest School we aim to offer all children the opportunities that will encourage them to develop a positive attitude and respect for themselves, others and the world around them.  

By following the children’s interests we will allow children to play, explore and experience their natural environment in order to develop their social skills and self-esteem. Children will be free to think deeply whilst they respond to appropriate challenges and achievable tasks. All children will learn how to manage risks and build their resilience and willingness to persevere through the support of their peers and trusted adults.

We believe that the numerous benefits of regular Forest School sessions will impact directly on the learning that takes place across school and at home as the children develop their confidence, application of practical skills and independence.

The role of the adult is to observe the children as they play and discover their natural environment, to evaluate the sessions in order to build upon the learning that has taken place and to facilitate the growth of each individual through subtle support. We are proud to have a Level 3 accredited Forest Schools Teacher within our federation.
