Welcome to FOSS, the Friends of Somersham School.

FOSS is the PTA for Somersham Primary School; a friendly group of parents, carers and teaching staff who help raise funds to support our small village school.

We are a registered charity and all the money we raise goes directly to the school, for example helping to subsidise school trips, purchase equipment requested by the teachers and children, buy books, or enable visits from various workshops and external groups.

We have tried lots of different fundraising activities over the years and like to arrange activities that the school children and their families will enjoy taking part in, but that also involve the local community in Somersham and the surrounding villages.

We run lots of events, including tried and trusted family favourites such as our fantastic summer fete, family quiz nights, school discos and chocolate bingo, as well as evening events for the grown-ups, such as psychic medium evenings, murder mystery events and casino nights.

Support FOSS while you shop online

Did you know that lots of online retailers donate to charities such as FOSS when you shop with them via EasyFundraising? It doesn't cost you anything and is easy to do; you can even set up donation reminders so you get a little nudge whenever you are shopping online.

Hundreds of different retailers are part of the scheme, including supermarkets such as ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Tesco so you can help FOSS just by doing your usual weekly shop! To get started visit the EasyFundraising website and search for 'Friends of Somersham School' to set FOSS as the cause you would like to support.

Could you help?

You won’t be surprised to hear that we are always in need of more support, so if you think you could lend a hand in some way, please do get in touch!

Although we are always pleased to talk to anyone who may be interested in joining the committee or signing up as a parent helper, being involved does not necessarily mean you have to take on a specific role. For instance, you may be happy to help at occasional events but cannot commit to frequent involvement; this is invaluable to us. Perhaps you have skills, experience or contacts that could support what we are already doing, or you have some new fundraising ideas you would like us to try out? This would be wonderful too! Whatever you feel you may be able to offer, we hope you will consider supporting FOSS in some way.
