Being a Linguist

We aim to foster pupil’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world by enabling them to express thoughts and ideas in another language.

Within our Federation, we teach our pupils French. Pupils in Key Stage Two (Years 3 to 6) learn to read, write and converse in French as well as learning about France, French culture and other countries where French is spoken. 

Key questions for pupils in Modern Foreign Languages:

Reading - Can I read simple sentences or information in French?

Writing - Can I write simple phrases, sentences or paragraphs in French?

Listening & Speaking - Can I have a conversation with someone in French?

Understanding culture - Can I describe some interesting details about France or another country where French is spoken?
