Being a Theologist

We believe that it is essential for all our pupils to learn from and about religion, so that they can understand the world around them. Through the Emmanuel Project, pupils develop their knowledge of the major world faiths, and their understanding and awareness of the beliefs, values and traditions of other individuals, societies, communities and cultures.

The teaching and learning of Religious Education in our Federation has the Emmanuel Project at its soul. The Emmanuel Project is an RE scheme of work for EYFS to Y6 which covers the Suffolk Agreed Syllabus for RE (2012).

Key questions for pupils in RE:

Enquire – Can I ask and answer questions about different religions?

Explore – Can I find out more about the beliefs of others? Can I find out what is similar and what is different between religions?

Evaluate and Express – Can I explain what I have learned and understood about a religion? Can I express my own thoughts and beliefs?
