Safeguarding

At Somersham Primary School, we recognise the important contribution we can make to the wider safeguarding system for children and we are committed to the safeguarding of our pupils. We all have a role to play in keeping children safe and we must ensure that all of our pupils feel that they will be listened to and have appropriate action taken in relation to any concerns they may raise.

We will do this by:

  • ensuring our approach is child-centred - this means we must always consider what is in the best interests of the child
  • seeking to establish effective working relationships with our parents and carers
  • providing offers of early help for our pupils and their families
  • endeavouring to work effectively in partnership with other agencies
  • developing and providing activities and opportunities throughout our curriculum that will help to equip our pupils with the skills they need.  This will include materials and learning experiences that will encourage our pupils to develop essential life skills and protective behaviours.

If you are concerned about the safety or welfare or your child, or a child you know, you should act without delay. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Please contact the school if you ever have concerns or need advice.
