Suffolk County Council Funded School Travel

The deadline to opt-in for SCC funded school travel for the 2025/26 school term is fast approaching.
If your child is eligible for SCC funded school travel you will need to opt-in by 31 May 2025 to receive travel for the start of the 2025/2026 school year. 
If your child already receives SCC funded school travel you still need to opt-in every year. 
If your child is starting primary or secondary school in September 2025 and they are eligible for SCC funded school travel, you will have received an email with details of how to opt-in.

Local Nature Recovery Strategies for Suffolk 

A team, working across both Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils, have been tasked with producing the strategies. The aim of these is to direct actions across the region to protect and restore biodiversity, alongside wider environmental benefits such as improved flood mitigation, climate change resilience and improved water quality.

The team have been working on the development of these strategies for approximately 18 months, in a collaborative fashion using the Norfolk and Suffolk Nature Recovery Partnership.

 Consultations are now open and live, until 11th June 2025, which allow you to view the strategy documentation and the associated mapping. These outline priority species and habitats, and indicate what could be actioned to improve nature across the counties, including suggested locations.

This is an important opportunity to review the draft strategies including the maps. This means you can have your say on the priorities and actions proposed to help nature recover across Suffolk.
