As part of out Evolution topic, Adders went outside to test their 'beaks' on different 'food' from different islands in a reconstruction of Charles Darwin's Galapagos finches.
When Charles Darwin returned from his trip around the world, it was the different beaks of the finches that first inspired him to develop his theories of evolution.
In our class reconstruction, children collected data to find out how much food they could collect with their beak on each island. They used tweezers, pliers, scissors, pegs and wooden spoons to represent each beak type.
