  In English, Otters class acted out scenes from The Storm Whale, thinking about the characters thoughts, feelings and imagining what they might say to each other. The children went on to write diaries in first person.

  

• Eco-Council

  Our Eco-council have been very activie this term, creating an action plan for 2023/2024, a new logo and planting their brand new raised flower bed. They have planted a variety of different vegetables and are currently running a growing competition. They have big plans for next term so watch this space!

  

• Hedgehogs Animations- Set Building

  Hedgehogs class are thoroughly enjoying their 'Invent' topic this term. They are currently busy working on their ''Invent Showcase' which is being shown to the school on Tuesday and to their parents/carers on Thursday. As part of their topic, they have been building sets for their own animations. We can't wait to see the finished creations!  

  

• Bees on the school field!

  Yesterday afternoon we had a wonderful visit from a swarm of bees to the school field. This resulted in a local beekeeper visiting the school to kindly remove the bees. Some of the staff were very privileged to watch as Mrs Burgess helped to remove the bees from the bush into a portable beehive. Together they carefully removed the swarm, using a smoker to take away the pheromone smell of the Queen from the bush. It was fascinating to watch as the bees found their way to their new portable hive, using their sense of smell! The event was filmed and will be shared during a school assembly later in the term!
